Best dressed businessman: the search continues

Closing a deal? The ultimate salesman's outfit is reputedly a navy suit, white shirt and red tie. Works everytime.

Mitchell Kornman
Senior tax consultant, Ernst & Young

Kornman isn’t obliged to wear a suit every day — but he does. That’s dedication. He favours navy or charcoal — always made to measure — with white or pale blue shirts.

His one stylistic quirk? Woollen ties. Then there’s his hair. Cut regularly, it’s combed with a strong side part. The full effect is trustworthy and professional. Just the kind of guy you’d want to take tax advice from.

Dr Parma Nand
Cardiothoracic surgeon, MercyAscot, Auckland

Patients put more trust in a guy who’s well dressed, says Nand. As a suit connoisseur, he estimates he buys a new suit every three months and rotates them every two years, owning upwards of 15 suits at any one time.

His latest purchase is a navy suit with pink, red and brown pinstripes — but don’t tell his wife. He has to hide the new ones every time he brings them home.
