The other winner was ATP Innovations, based at Sydney's Australian Innovation Park.
The conference is run by Netherlands-based Technopolicy Network, co-organiser of the Best Science-based Incubator Awards, offered since 2002.
Icehouse CEO Andy Hamilton says his organisation will benefit from the connections formed with the other 22 organisations at the event and the exposure gained.
"[The award recognises] international connections with incubators, with investors and with markets," he says. "It's the importance of investing in those markets. There are some amazing companies willing to help out New Zealand companies so the key takeout was for New Zealand to invest in those relationships."
The theme of the award this year was ‘High Jumping, Soft Landing’: Best Practices in Science-Based Incubation.
Other awards included the Best Science-Based Incubator and Best Upcoming Incubator.
Among the jury for this year’s awards was NZTE’s Richard White.
