NZICT has shed more light on the Rutherford Innovation Showcase event series, part of the Real New Zealand Showcase scheduled to coincide with the Rugby World Cup in September.

One of the major events will be an inbound China Investment and Trade forum in Auckland in mid September, designed to build on the relationships that emerged from last year’s ICT trade mission to China, headed by Communications and ICT minister Steven Joyce.

Other events include geospatial, digital content, public sector and local government forums in Auckland and Wellington.

Auckland will also host the Schools’ Robotics World Cup and Technology Jobs Fair in mid October. NZICT Group and Massey University will also host life size robots, some of which will compete in a goal kicking competitions against people at venues nationally.

The Real New Zealand Showcase event programme runs across the 45 days of the Rugby World Cup and participating sectors include food, wine, fashion, agribusiness, aviation and ICT.
