FaceMe tops BNZ Virgin Business Challenge

Videoconferencing company secures $100,000 prize.

FaceMe, which has developed a videoconferencing system that works across multiple devices, is the winner of the inaugural Virgin Business Challenge.

The company won $100,000, time with Virgin founder Richard Branson, a BNZ education scholarship, mentoring and flights.

More than 260 businesses entered the competition, with 20% coming from the internet and technology sector.
This was narrowed to10 finalists who pitched to the judging panel.

“All of our ten finalists are already success stories, and extremely passionate about their businesses," says Virgin Head of strategy and corporate development Keith Roberts. “We set out to find one business that was built around a strong creative original idea, a business that had strong management teams that had demonstrated that they could succeed, and were passionate and proud of what they were doing."

The judging panel was made up of Anthony Healy, director BNZ partners, Roberts, Bill Buckley, president of BSL Enterprises, Sarah Kennedy, CEO of RD1 and founder of the Hyperfactory Derek Handley.
